Macy’s of Quaker Bridge Mall survived another round of closures for the department store chain in flux.

Macy’s CEO Tony Spring confirmed that two New Jersey stores, one located at Livingston Mall, and another at Interstate Shopping Center in Ramsey, will end operations.

In a memo released on Jan. 8, Macy’s Spring announced plans to close underperforming stores as part of the chain’s “Bold New Chapter” initiative.

“In executing our strategy, we continue to review our portfolio and make careful decisions about where and how we invest, including closing underproductive stores and streamlining operations. These decisions are not made lightly,” Spring explained.

Macy’s intends to close 150 underperforming stores across the nation by the end of 2026. Macy’s at Quaker Bridge Mall continues to attract walk-in customers along with JC Penney, key anchors for the Lawrence Twp.-based store.
